It was just a few weeks ago, I was talking to a company about purchasing a Installink Fence Dispenser. He was bidding a large fence job. He said if successful, they would purchase a unit. Well, the job was bid and he didn’t get the job. We see this all the time. Who is getting these jobs. In most cases, they are companies that already had a fence dispensing unit.

My response to this finding was: Why would you want to wait to purchase an Installink when you should have one available to use before the big job? Besides being ready, your fence crew can gain experience by using it on smaller jobs. It will also give your estimators a better idea on how to bid the jobs, bidding job more aggressively, which will better your chances in landing the larger jobs. Or at least put you on the same playing field with these companies that already use a fence dispenser.

I believe that a fence company that wants to do a lot of commercial chain link fence has to have a fence dispensing machine available to them. It’s the same reason why every fence company would want an auger. It’s faster, it’s easier and it makes sense. The faster you can put up a fence, the better off your company is going to be. The big jobs are very competitive. If you’re not competitive, you’re not going to get the job.

That’s why a company should not wait until a fence bid is accepted before buying fence equipment needed to get the job done fast.
